Worrying about the weather

October 6, 2009

At this time of year when we see our breath and the snow at the top of the mountains, we start getting the ski itch. And of course, we can’t help but wonder will it be a good snow year? Will the kids be wearing snow boots on Haloween? Will the mountains open early? Will we get the kind of pow that makes us late for work and makes our knees weak? This is all healthy wondering, but this season in Whistler and Vancouver the weather is a big concern.

What is to come for the ski and snowboard events during the Olympics? Will it be socked in and soupy as is so often the case in Whistler or will we have those bluebird days that keep us coming back for more? No matter what happens, the fact is we can’t change it. The Games will go on no matter what Mother Nature has in store. So grab your Whistler ski equipment rentals, get up the mountains and let the games begin.
