I am an avid fan of skiing and enjoy flying every year out West to enjoy the mountains. I have owned my own skis for awhile and had always had to travel with them. After this last trip it was the last time I will ever travel with my skis again. First of all the fact that airlines are now charging you for every bag to check it is very expensive to check a bag and your skis. I would also have to make sure that what ever car was picking me up from the airport could fit my skis. I have been looking around at rental shops and have realized it would not be that much more to rent skis and not have to deal with the hassle of lugging your skis. After talking with a rental shop I realized a number of reasons why I should rent skis. One of the most enticing things was that I could rent Demo skis and have the latest and greatest in ski technology. Also the skis that I would get would be finely tuned and waxed. It was a pain to have to get my own skis tuned. After learning all of this I have sold my old skis and can not wait to rent and not have to deal with dragging skis all through an airport.
